Mud Pump Operating Rocedures And Troubleshooting 

Operating procedures

1. Check before starting: all connecting parts should be tightened; the electric rotation direction should be correct; the clutch is flexible and reliable; the pipeline connection is firm, the seal is reliable, and the bottom valve is flexible and effective.

2. Before starting the submerged mud pump, the suction pipe, bottom valve, and pump body must be filled with water, and the upper end of the pressure gauge buffer must be filled with oil.

3. Rotate it by hand to make the piston reciprocate twice. When there is no obstruction and the circuit is well insulated, it can be started without load. After starting, the load will be gradually increased after normal operation.

4. Pay attention to the sealing conditions of each sealing device during operation, and adjust if necessary. The tie rods and auxiliary rods should be frequently lubricated with oil.

5. The sand content of the mud must not exceed 10% during operation.

6. In order to make splash lubrication reliable for the mud pump with several speeds, several speeds should be operated separately in each shift, and the time should not be less than 30 seconds.

7. It is strictly forbidden to change gears during operation. Stop the pump and change gears when changing gears is required.

Troubleshooting

Pump vibration

★ Reason: The pump shaft is not concentric with the diesel engine (or motor), the impeller is unbalanced, and the bearing is damaged;

★ Solution: Adjust the concentricity, test the balance of the impeller, and replace the bearing.

Slow pump water

★ Reason: The gap between the front liner and the impeller is large, and the water outlet pipe cannot seal the air and empty completely;

★ Solution: adjust the gap, adjust the water outlet pipe, install a vacuum device.

The pump does not absorb water

★ Reasons: insufficient filling and diversion of water, inability to discharge the air in the pump, air leakage in the suction pipe, large clearance between the front liner and the impeller;

★ The original solution: continue to infuse the water diversion, check whether the pipeline is leaking, and adjust the gap between the impeller and the front liner.

Outlet pressure

Low pressure and low flow

★ Reason: There is air in the pump, the gap between the impeller and the front liner is large, the clutch is not closed tightly, and the impeller or liner is worn;

★ Solution: Evacuate the gas in the pump, adjust the clearance to adjust the clearance of the clutch friction plate, and replace the impeller or liner.

Pump wears quickly

★ Reasons: poor construction environment (large particles), long conveying distance, long water inlet pipeline;

★ Solution: Replace the battlefield, add afterburners, shorten the length of the inlet pipe to reduce cavitation.

Impeller journal wears fast

★ Reasons: low head of the high-pressure water pump, misalignment of the packing, and misalignment between the pump shaft and the back cover;

★ Solution: Replace the high-pressure pump higher than the mud pump head, replace the packing, and adjust the concentricity.
